The distance between these two is only about 112 km by road, which takes roughly 2 hours 30 minutes. You can also start from Delhi and go via Chandigarh, but that would take more than 7 hours. Travelling by road is best as the views gradually change, and it allows you to understand and soak in all the beauty of nature.
Shimla is one of the most popular destinations in Himachal Pradesh. There is a lot to do here, like riding the toy train, walking the mall road, paragliding, cycling, the list is endless. You cal also walk as far as you can, and lose yourself to nature. Then start cafe hopping in late afternoon.
Mashobra is only 10 km away from Shimla, and you have to make it to this fine destination for a day trip. The Reserve Forest Sanctuary here is a must-visit, and so is the Tattapani River for river rafting experience. Mashobra is also home to some temples that you could visit, before returning to Shimla to spend the night.
Start early, and drive down to the Kalka Railway Station. You can catch a train to Delhi, or even towards eastern India, Howrah. On the other hand, you can even go to Shimla airport and catch a flight.
